TRANSFERS In and Out - Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)

Oggetto: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
The begining of a new transfer period always brings excitement when football's over. We've heard from our directors that we're bringing one top-scorer and a midfielder, and there are tins of rumors of young players coming.

So I`ll start the market asking who do you think would fit the team and who may come?

Players such as Dinho, Eto'o, Emerson, Sheva and lots of others are linked to the club, as well as other top names are linked to other clubs, such as Henry to Barca, Tevez to Chelsea, Gila out of here, etc.

I personally would like Henry, he's versatility and hablities paired up with Ronnie and Kaka would maka a perfect trio, although he's linked to Barca in an operation that some qualify as invitable. If he signs with Barca, there would be a player that will not be playing, Eto'o, that Galliani said the team was going for, I like him too but I still prefer Henry.

In midfield, Emerson is heavily linked, I don't know how much, because if he comes, he would not play that much, maybe would be a replacement for Rhino or Ambro when he starts.

The defense is pretty good, with Nesta, Oddo, Maldini and Janku, a young prospect would be well-recieved.

Haing said that, I would like to hear your opinions soon.

My opinion is;
Henry is a wonderful striker but he never makes any impact on big match days
Eto'o is really top quality who can do well in a squad that has a midfield as great as Milan's, but he has that raging temper. Emerson has played top quality football but I don't see him as a better player than Rino Gattuso because they play similar roles. We also have Ambro
So I think Eto'o is the most realistic buy.

Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
Galliani's made it clear that a striker is amongst his priorities on the other hand Gilardino has gone completely out of favour with Ancelotti who's echoed that there's no reason why Gilardino's wish to leave Milan cannot become true, i'd be more than happy if the club could get 15million pounds out of his departure, still a big loss of money mind

Sky UK keep banging on Henry [30] as highly likely transfer, funnily enough at this time of the year there's always been speculation about him going to a lot of clubs; thing is i don't know if he's fit enough i mean Henry, whose contract with Arsenal expires in three years time, has struggled with a serious sciatic nerve trouble all season and didn't get to see much of the ball since the PSV game back in March

all this talking about Henry makes that famous Arsenal wrecking of Asscrackinter spring to mind, 5-1 in a drizzling night in Milan where Henry alone made Cannavaro Materazzi Cordoba and Zanatti look like amateurs constantly sweating panting and trailing after him, two goals and three assists literally out of nothing, what an exciting player and what a world class performance that was

it has to be said last but not least that unlike last summer there are more players who want to come to Milan now, plenty to choose from i'd say

Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
I would like to see Zlatan, Henry, Eto'o. Torres, Zambrotta, Ronanaldhinio, Tevez, Puyol etc

That ain't gonna happen (well maybe one)

I would actually like to see three Ajax players..in Sneider (good back up and eventual starter to replace pirlo, etc in midfield) , Babel ( so much potenial and skill) and Huntlenaar (who would replace Gila and score if provided with the same service Gila was provided)
Talorcan - 06 Giu 2007 - 05:28
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
Well I for one would like to interview Gila at the end of his playing life and ask him what his biggest regret was.
It would be great to see if he admited that leaving Milan and not winning another title because he was a spoiled primadonna.

As far as who should come you all know of my favour for Tevez.
Midfield we need some young up and commers to support our veterans. (Emerson I would prefer not to see in red and black)
Defence get some good young legs and lets start seeing Grimi.
obita - 06 Giu 2007 - 10:05
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
Dutchman Huntelaar would be a fantastic buy considering his performance for Ajax over the 2 years. He is young, sharp and couragious and is a good team player. He would be of great benefit for Milan.
After winning the Champions League the number of players wanting to come to Milan has tremendously increased (like it had always been before the events of last summer) and Milan and pick carefully from the interested pack.
Puyol is an ardent Milan fan and has always said if he is to leave Barca he would plead to play for Milan
Zlatan is in the mix with inter and I don't think he has gotten over his obsession with Moggi.
Torres is for Atletico what Maldini is for Milan - he doesn't want to move
Ronaldinho isn't bad but we have Kaka
Zambrotta is versatile and I still wish we signed him last summer. Signing him now will still be wonderful
Tevez is top of every ambitious team's list and so should be for Milan

Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
I got this about a player who is having the form of his life: Carlos Eduardo in Germio
Gremio starlet Carlos Eduardo has revealed he has offers from AC Milan and Barcelona.
"I've received two proposals," said the 19 year-old playmaker, "one from AC Milan and one from Barcelona.

"The Rossoneri offer is the bigger of the two."

It's understood Milan have bid £7 million for Carlos Eduardo, but Gremio president Paulo Palaipe insisted: "We won't sell the player for anything less than £15 million."

Does anyone knows anything more about him?
GMT - 06 Giu 2007 - 13:34
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
indeed despite his age Babel's no longer a gamble he seems offering a variety of options since he can play wide on either flank as well as supporting striker that would be an excellent pick

our top priority at least to my eyes would be dealing with our weakest department as soon as possible which means filling two vacancies up front in two easy steps, not necessarely in the following order mind you the other way around will do as well: a) waving double byes to Gila and Borriello, and b) getting on some strikers who know what to do with the ball and have familiarity with banging it in - the more i think about it the more i find it hard to believe that we clinched the CL despite Gilardino, that's some achievement, will keep a bottle of bubbly in the fridge to celebrate his departure properly - as for point b) let's just keep Kaka's opinion into account and whoever he comes up with will be alright for me
javo_22 - 07 Giu 2007 - 00:47
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
My choice overall would be Henry, just remembring the awesome goal he scored to disqualify Real Madrid iin Cl two years ago, makes me happy. Eto'o would be awesome too, if not, I would like Huntelaar or Tevez.

Have you heard anything of Suazo??? He may go to inter, if they want him, Cagliari's president said, that would overload a loaded postition, Crespo, Ibra, Adriano and now Suazo... what's up with them?

Defense may be set, I still would like a young player.

Just imagine a tripplet conformed by Kaka, Ronaldo and either Eto'o or Henry, that would be fantastic!

I have some bad news too, Galliani said the team would end the season with negative numbers, refering to economic reasons, last year he said we ended up with positive number cause the sale of judas, this year he said he'll not sale any good player,, so he waited to see negative numbers in the final balance.

Just incase you didn't realise there Obita, there was a hint of sarcasim in my first paragraph, I am fully aware of each and every player 's availability in squads and contracts. It's just a sense of de ja vu for me as I feel like this happend last year year as well.
You could name prospective players till the cow's come home but this does actually get boring.
I hope Milan get some good players I hope they bring in emerson cause he will be an asset with his defensive style style of play in the midfield, you cant get get enough of therm boys. The three I mentioned I do want, but that probably won't happen.
obita - 07 Giu 2007 - 08:51
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
I noticed it! Buying as many good players as possible will be good if it is necessary. Of course we need strikers and because we already have Ronaldo who will most certainly be a sure starter when fit we need one more who can be tolerated to almost be an assured starter (if he is a potent and proven goal scorer) and another one who will be obliged to compete for a place in the starting eleven. Eto'o and Henry would definitely want to start games, Huntelaar or Tevez can be handled and made to compete for a spot on the team.
Javo, Souza missed his chance for a big club move last summer and right now, inter can take him because he hasn't impressed much during the just concluded campaign. He won't be a threat in a blue/black strip.

Well with Real Madrid winning la liga the shake up in spain is about to start.

Beckham is off to LA Galaxy (though he was injured in his last game for the BLANCOS.)
Barca will be looking to overhaul especially as they gave away the title in the last 1/3 of the season.

Who will leave? Eto is on many team's lists and Berlusconi's fixation with Ronaldinho may bear fruition but not necessarily results for MILAN.
Hopefully they will put all those funds from shirt sales to good use this off season.
Ronaldinho is the favourite target for Milan as far as the Soccer conoscienti in TO are concerned. Me I am still not convinced.
Milan shirts have now replaced giuve and benfica as the most seen at TFC games, except of course the home team....
If any team can intergrate him Milan can without the ego issues.

Huntelaar would be an asset and Milan's history of carrying dutch players will continue with Berlusconi at the helm.

Lets see what happens at the end of the Copa Libratadores and the under 20 WC if any gems decide to shine.

I feel thats the signing we should have went for last season, and although last saeson for him wasn't as prolific as the one before he still managed to score 14 goals. Now thew thing is with Suazo unlike Gial and pippo he is quite similar to fat Ronnie and can create his own chances that I like to see in a centre forward. I hope this one works out and welcome him to the Milano family

proud member of the better late than never party myself, can hardly wait to see him in action well the plot thickens but Suazo shouldn't have gone through medicals and most of all signed a deal with anyone without Cagliari nodding in first place, big mistake that was, he's now in for a well deserved fine for thinking he couldn't reach any higher than Asscrackinter bless him - medicals are ok i'll take it
Talorcan - 20 Giu 2007 - 03:28
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
Well GMT just got home to hear the News.
This hardly seems like a dne deal from all the complications.

In the end did they sign him to play him or to PISS OFF moratti? (who is a Buffoon) The man has no class whatsoever.

I am happy since he was a major part of our discussions last summer and regarded by most of the forum in a positive light.
GMT - 20 Giu 2007 - 10:38
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
that bit of paper signed by Suazo is actually useless without Cagliari chairman Cellino sign, Asscrackinter can only wipe their ass with such a rough bit of sandpaper - what's that all complications you're talking about - to put it plain and simple it is done deal unless Suazo refuses to join our lot, only a fool would do that surely
Talorcan - 20 Giu 2007 - 20:03
Oggetto:
Well the only complication is really the fact that all parties have not signed.
Therefore it is not "Official"

I agree the man would be a moron not to sign with Milan, however stranger things have happened in Italian football.

At least it is not the tipical inter problem;

The contract is signed but the player is not the one who signed it!! HAHA!
GMT - 20 Giu 2007 - 21:39
Oggetto:
well when it comes to italian football anything goes i will agree with you on that but let's just pretend for the fun of it that Suazo is literally dying for going down football history as the moron who refused to sign for Milan and play up front along with the likes of Kaka and Ronaldo right, he could not do that

Suazo is currently under contract to Cagliari which means that he's not free to pick the club of his choice or not in the position to dictate his will if you like, Cagliari top dog Cellino makes decision for him

so if it is true as it is that Suazo hasn't put his sign on paper yet on the other hand it is also true that his sign is definitely less valuable than Cellino's to some extent i'd say it's an almost irrelevant detail - that aside some trains come in just once in a lifetime and personally i reckon that Suazo will jump on it without second invitation

well for most footballers playing for Milan having the opportunity to actually win tournaments is the experience of a lifetime not to be missed but you never know Suazo might think it's just the taking part that counts in which case Asscrackinter would be perfect destination basically it's down to his own ambition

Henry is now in Barca officially, I'm almost sure we tried to get him, but he still prefered Barcelona, now they have Dinho, Messi, Henry and Eto'o, although Henry's arrival may open the door for Eto'o leaving and we would be interested because Suazo prefered inter.

I think Suazo's decision was the wrong one, talking about oportunities, they have Crespo, Adriano and Ibra, I don't know where would he fit.

Just hope that this time this big name promised, comes, last year the promise was the same and we saw nobody

Lets see, because one of our favorites players, may be on his way to inter, talking about Tevez, that may sign with nerazzuri, Real Madrid is interested too, he said he would prefer inter, but I personally don't see where would he have a chance with players like Crespo, Ibra, Adriano and now Suazo. Milan would give him more oportunities
obita - 27 Giu 2007 - 09:06

Tevez's future is very unclear as on one end clubs are fighting for his signature while on the other hand MSI and West Ham are fight for his ownership. The Hammers have his registration and all documents to support their claim as FIFA stipulates while MSI claim they own the player in the sense that West Ham was only palying for his salary while he was playing for them but they don't have any right to cash on him. Quite a confusion in there and hopefully the interested cluds including Milan don't get caught in the mix with bad consequences.

PAto is good and has been tagged "new Kaka" and can play well in Milan as the Rossoneri live like a family and help each other especially the young and new to fit in. Right now Chelsea have offered 10 million pounds while inter are staking 15million Euros so financial you all can see how much we should prepare to land him. From a socail and footballing point of view he will find it hard like Adriano to settle among the pumas at inter and in England there is way too much pressure from the press
Talorcan - 06 Lug 2007 - 23:20

Ancelotti flew in last week to see him play in the opener of Brazil against Poland in Montreal for the U20 WC which Brazil lost 1-0 and Poland played 1 man down 3/4' of the game.
Since then he played against South Korea and score 2 times in the win.
He would be a huge score for Milan at such a young age and playing with hero's from several "eras" of brazilian football would be good for his development under Milan's youth development.

It is very rare to sign such a young non italian player though for Milan.

Nothing wrong with that. HE will only add depth to our strikers.

As far as the signing lets not quite panic here.

Don't worry because as mentioned some of the signings are not well thought through. Liverpool seems to be testing how much mony their owners are willing to splurge but I am not convinced it will even get them results in EPL let alone CL.

13.5 MM you say elmickio. It never ceases to amaze me what people will spend sometimes. I think that one will end up as money very poorly spent. It brings back memories of the pile Chelsea spent on Ballack and Sheva last summer and had very little to show for it.

The thing is I think 13.5 is too much for a young player, but I'm a huge fan of Babel and I'm quite sad that he didnt end up here, I did once read an interview about him stating that he 's a big Milano fan and would like to emulate such oranje players as Rikaarrd, van basten (his hero), seedorf and guilit.

As for sheva and Ballack, I just thing the both where victims of Murinho's stubborness. I know it was Abroimich who wanted the two in not Jose, and I feel the both were not utilised properly.
Speaking of Sheva, there is talk that he 's coming back once again? I don't know waht 's going on here? Sheva R9, with support, who knows?

And last but not least...good luck Oliveria, I hope you get your confidnece back and maybe come back blazing!!!

Now if there's a team that has make big moves is Barca, they signed Henry, then they went for Arsenal's defender Vaya Toure, then they went for another defender, Gabriel Milito, noth added to a crowded defense featuring, Puyol, Thuram, Zambrotta, Marquez and Van Bronkhorst, this brings me a question: May someone leave? Javo let me say congs for Mexico's bronze position at the Copa.
To the point now, Pato is worth a risk of maybe $10million but not more. Remember what happened with Kaka? Sometimes you just have to risk although not too much. In his place I would prefer a proven European wonder kid like Huntelaar (whom I am not sure of where he is right now). Babel seem interested in moving to a big club and whoever knocks first takes him - press reports put Liverpool in pole position btu his game doesn't spark in Liverpool's system.
Sheva must decide early enough before the non-EU slot is filled up, and I believe he and Ronie can play well upfront.
Oliveira took the wrong shirt number (Sheva can have it back) and now he has to go back to Spain and regain his form.

Just to clarify with you there Obita, Babel has joined Liverpool. Huntlenaar is a great finisher of the ball, but I would like to see him join if either Gila or pippo leave cause they are the exact same kind of striker we cant three fox in the box, we need another forward with a bit of skill, razmatazz, whatever u want to call it someone who can beat a man with ease, someone to bring a new dimension to the team, someone like...Tevez..oooh that's right he will be joing another EPl team.

I want Pato to come here, I understand he's young but what the hell let's do it in Extremes, have a 39 year old and a 17 y.o on the same pitch would be fun.

Just read that Barca has given green light to Milan for Eto'o, I got it from ESPN but if Milan wants him, they will pay a big prize for him, 50 million, wich I think we could pay, we sold Sheva last year, there is 30, we won CL, there is another 40, plus we haven't spent money in other players, (just Oliveira, wich I think wasn't that much), I think if we get him, we should be able to get Pato to, as a replacement for Ronnie when it's time.

And just remember, Silvio has been promising a world class forward since two years...

Well we can't go wrong with Eto it will be interesting to see how they divide the playing time and ego's....

As far as Pato goes he is awfully young to make an impact at Milan.
Further in Pele's latest visit to Italy he has said 3 very important things;

Pato is too young for the Italian Serie A (Milan) yet.
Kaka should stay at Milan usinghis carreer at Santos as an example. He further cited money as should not being his prime motivator.
Pippo should go to Brazil and join Santos. Very high praise indeed for Superpippo from il Rei.

Lets see what transpires and hope Galliani and crew do the moves the team will benefit from.

Huntelaar from Ajax should be a great striker Milan looking for. No Henry, Torres, Eto are available and Sheva will not be returned. Striker are hot for Milan during this summer signing!!!

Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
Vanbasto, i totally agree with you on Huntelaar. My opinion of Baptista is not good, he reminds me of Maurizio Ganz of the Reiziger era at Milan....he is quiet wasteful and not the tpye Milan needs...we all saw him at Arsenal. Where will he play exactly? I don't rate him ahead of Pippo and Gila because there seems to be no extra dimension he is going to add to the team that the 3 attackers (Ronaldo, Gila ad Pippo) already give. But I stress that this is my opinion.

I for one would be happy to see Huntelaar at Milan.
We have always had a couple on hand for Milan's greatest accomplishments.

In other news Ancelotti has no interest in Requelme who is likely to stay at Boca Juniors for now.
Baptista has also made it clear he wants to stay at Real Madrid. Not sure if this is posturing to drive up the price.
My initial reaction is to say "Screw you!" if you don't want to play for the best club side in the world.
Maybe some of the European members who read Spanish can shed some light on this based on Spanish news sources.

I think the best thing is to get permission from a club to speak to their player and find out if he would like to come over. If the answer is yes the you go ahead to negotiate. Case study Fabio Cannavar never wanted to play for inter (he was poised to join Milan in 2002/2003 only for Moratti to as usual jump in and whisk him away and we signed Nesta) and for the two seasons he played for inter, he sold them properly with below par performances until he moved to Juve. So it is very important to engage an interested party for the good of all satkeholders.

Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
Here is an article from ESPN archives that showed how busy Milan was in the 2001 transfer window and I wished we were doing the same now:

AC Milan sign Viola's Rui Costa
MILAN, July 3 (Reuters) - Fiorentina's Portuguese international midfielder Rui Costa is set to sign a five-year contract with AC Milan.
'It's 99.9 percent certain that Rui Costa belongs to AC Milan,' a spokesman told Reuters. 'We will sign a contract after he completes a medical.'
The spokesman added that the transfer was worth around 80 billion lire (£22 million).
Cash-strapped Fiorentina announced last week that Rui Costa and goalkeeper Francesco Toldo had been sold to Parma, but the two players rejected the moves.
Rui Costa, who joined Fiorentina from Benfica in 1994, has emerged as one of the best playmakers in Serie A during his seven seasons in Florence.
Should the transfer go through, it would complete an impressive series of deals for Milan as they seek to strengthen their squad for next season.
They signed Italy striker Filippo Inzaghi from juventus on Monday and have also brought in midfielder Andrea Pirlo from local rivals inter.
The club also announced that Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko has signed a one-year extension to his current contract, keeping him at the San Siro until June 2006.
New coach Fatih Terim will also be able to call on Spanish striker Javi Moreno and Romanian wing-back Cosmin Contra, who both moved to Milan from UEFA Cup finalists Alaves last month.
Milan have sold young striker Gianni Commandini to Atalanta for 30 billion Italian lire (£10m).

In other news Former Italian National coachLippi has declared that the 2 teams that have made the most of the transfer season are Barcellona and inter.
He reserved rare praise especially for Barcellona's attack saying who ever had Henry, Eto, Ronaldinho & messi all in the same line up...
For the merdazzuri he said getting Suazo was a good move for complementing their playing style....

The truth will be in the results. As I recall Barca did not fair too well last year especially when they crashed and burned on the last day of the season. As far as inter its been what 42 years of futility in CL...

Nwe players don't necessarily mean a winning formula...we will see...inter and Barca are not the teams to reckon with in Europe. Also you must shop when you really need to. What did the 'Galacticos' win in their 4 years? Some buys just distabilize a team.
Note: I'm not defending anyone who didn't make sufficient buys, but you don't just but because others are. Barca's biggest signing was Henry who for me is not a threat on a big day. We all saw Ronaldinho at the World Cup and last season's Champions' League...he is great but not as effective as Kaka....you have Kaka and Gattuso, you are the real threat

Yes, elmickio Real won the CL in 2002 (2-1 over Leverkusen in Glasgow) but they didn't have Beckham and Ronaldo yet..they had Figo and Zizou and the rest were modest players. But when they started to pick only the so called best-of-the-best they couldn't go past teams like Arsenal, Lyon, Bayern and Juve in the CL. The departure of Ronaldo, Zizou and Figo coupled by some complacency from Barcelona gifted the La Liga to Real but they still stupidly signed Schuster at Don Fabio's expense and this will cost them dearly this time round.

I respect Man United because they play fairest of all English sides but against Milan there is a real jinx way from the 60s. In 2005 everybody said that they were still young when Milan beat them home and away (Crespo goals)...this time round (3-0) at San Siro there was no excuses at all. Sir Alex Ferguson said they were beaten by the greatest Milan display he had ever witness and went on to predict that Liverpool stoodno chance in the finals. They will be a tough side? Maybe...Carlitos is not like Kaka...at least we saw this at Corinthians and West Ham. What is going to mess Man United most isif they decide to use two number 10s (Carlitos and Rooney). But good luck to them.

Pato is young and very much talked about. Let's just wait and see.
Elmickio...Ancelotti and Seedorf are what we have at the moment so we just have to love them to uncomplicate things.

Hey anyone think we should pick up Ballack from Chelsea to boster the midfield?

Let face it Ancelotti is expecting Gourcuff to break into the starting line up this year.
That should allow the team not to overplay some of the older verterans like Seedorf and Ambrosini.

ta guys well as you can easily guess once you grab hold of the big eared pot any hols regardless of location is actually good hols - in my case Spain and Portugal had a mouthwatering array of leisure activities on offer but i have to say that in this respect Red hunting at night turned out being the one of my choice what a buzz that was

the other day was drinking myself unconscious while watching in disbelief at Seedorf performing in the Railway Cup i have to agree with you elmickio i mean the bugger was merely strolling about even more lazily than i did along the portuguese seashore, question is isn't he supposed to go chasing after the ball/opponents in any given fixture, am i missing something or that's what he gets paid for

AND what is it with our ageing coach fielding Abumeyang as lone striker well so to speak since he couldn't even get past a lamppost i mean was Ancelotti pissed as a fart or what, thanks to him the first trophy of the season's gone to the Dutch side

more to the topic Pato right i understand he's 18 next month i think it's worth mentioning my neighbour's little boy here he's 14 you throw a football at him and start wondering if it's a seal in disguise, oh well ...

just two words, petition now

We all know Seedorf plays at his best (Now Only) in important games.
HE will not break a sweat if he feels it is beneath him.

While I have no problem personally with this it is hardly condusive to good team cohesion.
As Far as the coach goes he needs to engineer success and not put players in a position where they fail or in Seedorf's case piss off paying fans.
But based on your analysis (I did not get a sniff of the game anywhere on this side of the pond) Ancelotti obviously was just tinkering with the line up...
We will see the real team at the Super Cup in Monaco...Then lets see if we need to sharpen our knives or pens/quills.

I agree we need reinforcements, and Baptista could be one. But remember the player wants to remain in Madrid and worst still Real are asking for alot of money that could be invested in a player interested in playing for Milan. There are still options out there. Kaka remains fundamental for Milan and we should protect him from Real Madrid especially.

Yes, I've read other information, talking about 3 years and around 4.5 million per season, I don't know 'bout this one, where will emerson play, certainly not for Pirlo, neiter Kaka or Seedorf, he isn't the same type of player, the only place I see he'll fit is as Gattusso's replacement
Klootzak - 22 Ago 2007 - 02:06
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
He can play in the 3 positions of Gattuso, Pirlo and Ambrosini (Seedorf will be near Kaká in the 4-3-2-1) but probably he will turnover more with Ambrosini and Gattuso (the sostitute of Seedorf is Gourcuff)...but of course Ancelotti will know better tha me where he will play!!!
obita - 23 Ago 2007 - 15:33
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
From La juventus to Real....then Milanello...what a journey!!! Good luck to Emerson.
But I don't agree he can do what Pirlo does. Maybe he can be in Gatuss's place but Rino is totally red and black and his place shouldn't be put at stake like this. He dies for us even more than Kaka. Well I hope Ancelotti will use emerson only as a cover and not an alternative. This is my honest opinion
elmickio - 23 Ago 2007 - 17:25
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
Emerson can show consistency that Pirlo lacks, he seems to come in and out of matches and I feel this is excellant signing at an excellant price. Sometimes he frustrates me when he tries long balls to one centre forward, so we can rotate between the midfielders, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Brocchi and now Emerson, now that's quite a scary midfield with nice cover
obita - 24 Ago 2007 - 06:22
Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
I agree that the cover is good now. But in Ancelotti's 4-3-2-1 formation Pirlo's game dictates pace and when he plays well Milan performs well and viceversa.
But I know emerson is a hardman and will provide some cover, put I don't know his vision and trickery skills as much as I know of Pirlo. But one good thing is that he wants to play well and for Milan.

I read Milan wants Klass Huntelaar!!!!! This would be my purchase of the summer. 'Hunter' jus knows where the goal is.

Oggetto: RE: Summer Tranfer Market (comings and goings around Europe)
Well everyone is still ignoring the one area we are weak and that is in defence.
I hope Ancelotti is not planning on simply outscoring the opposition this season.
The 3-0 win against Genoa was misleading in that Genoa made some defensive errors and got a weak penalty called against them.
Milan made some mistakes that against better clubs with speed they could have capitalized on much better.

The transfer window is closing shortly and we could use some real speed on the flanks.

The xmas tree formation (4-3-2-1) gives no room for direct wingers but attacking wing backs. Oddo and Jankulovski are perfect examples and it works very well. Milan's play is mainly penetrative (straight from the centre of the field)
But I still think we need a forward and how i wish he is a Klass like Huntelaar.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying the team is ready to roll over. But if we did one area to strengthen it is defence. If our past couple of seasons are any kind of reference injuries, especially with older players are a fact of football.
