If Milan wants to buy Tevez, I think it should be before the Copa America because Argentina looks the strongest team on paper as Basile has surmoned all the top guns from Europe and incase Tevez shines and makes a big impact, his price tag will rocket sky high.
The uncertainties surrounding Gilardino makes it very necessary for Milan to think quick and bring in a young and strong striker like Tevez or Eto'o

Tevez has been linked with talks to inter and why not his former club is in major trouble and is facing an arbitration hearing shortly to review the improprieties they used in obtaining him originally from Corinthian's in Brazil and then continuing to play him in EPL.

If Sheffield UTD are doing this I am surprised none of the CL teams are doing something similar to Liverpool for their obtaining of Mascherano from West Ham in clear violation of FIFA rules.

Tevez case heads to arbitration
June 17, 2007

-- West Ham won its relegation fight on the final day of the Premier League season. On Monday, five weeks after the last game was played, Sheffield United will try to get the Hammers kicked out.

The Premier League fined West Ham for acquiring Argentina striker Carlos Tevez from Brazilian club Corinthians after it was discovered his contract was owned by a third party. Although West Ham admitted that it broke the rules, Tevez continued to play and his goals helped the team avoid relegation.

Sheffield United dropped down instead, and now the Blades will argue before an independent arbitration panel that West Ham should have been docked points as well as fined.

United says the Hammers, who were fined 5.5 million pounds (C$11.6 million), were wrong to continue fielding Tevez, who is debating whether to stay in English soccer or move elsewhere.

"I think we are very confident of winning," Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe said Sunday. "We have a compelling case that's based upon an irrational decision given by the first independent commission that was set up. We would not have pursed going to arbitration unless we thought we would win."

"It's the fact one club that has not breached the rules has been relegated whilst another club that has breached the rules has retained its Premiership status and that's the key argument."

What is the real reason do you feel for the state that many gifted players are reluctant to move to Serie A?

Is it the money/taxation issues in Italy?
Is it the fact of corruption and same old problems which no one will address in Italy?
Is it that Italian football is no longer regarded as the best league in which to play? (not enough competitive teams 4-5 only now)

Has any on actually done a study that shows if a player were to make a $1000000 where is the best country to earn that from a taxation and career point of view? I would be quite curious to see where Italy ended up and that should be the wake up call to Italy and their corrupt politicians to clean up there act.

I think it may be the game style, nowadays leagues like spanish or english are winning more popularity because of their spectacular game style that makes players shine more than in Italy, what I mean is that players get to choose from a tactical game or a individual performance game, they choose the second one

Here is the latest on Tevez but it is not a done deal.
But he has gone from a bargain to a possible 30MM deal.

Even then the arrangement is strictly a loan for 2 years and a 3 year option not a complete sale of the player to Man U.

I will say it now Milan will regret this in the CL next season if the teams meet....

I still don't know why team hasn't aproach to Carlitos, Silvio said he would sign a quality striker, he also said they will not rush things, thats his mistake, if he doesn't rush things, quality players may go

Well this summer the EPL is signing players right left and centre.
Only Barca has done anything with really quality names in Spain.

We need to be patient but Galliani must act when the opportunity presents itself.
We may be seeing Pato from Brazil soon as Brazil is virtually illiminated from the under 20WC with an poor showing against the USA yesterday losing 2-1!
That is their second loss in the tournament. No joy in Rio today.
