Well today Italy clashed with Mighty Lethuania...
The out come was less than Italy and Novice national coach Donadoni had hoped for. Italy 1- Lethuania 1.
All of Milan's players on the pitch today played very well with the possible exception of Gilardino.
Stand outs were Gattuso and Pirlo.
Lets see what the next match brings... |

not impressive scoreline at all is it - haven't seen this one so couldn't say much about it except perhaps pointing out that it would seem a typical post world cup performance by the world cup holders - we're talking of italy, they don't work their arse off for nothing
oh and as long as our lads don't leave the park on a stretcher its allright |

all i know is that the game had to end like this to give the players more motivation because if you are the World Champ you really feel bored.
next game on wednesday should be a killer. |

| I would have expected more for a home game and Gilardino's lack of scoring in non league games is really starting to concern me. If he keeps this up he may find himself only coming on as a sub... |

whatta start! - you'd now expect them not to make it to the finals wouldn't ya
frankly speaking couldn't even remember when they last conceded three goals, i mean in the same game
The Scotchers made a brilliant start though!
i understand that some people will be happy for a while
Only a few days after the miserable 3-0 home defeat to Iceland, Northern Ireland have beaten Spain 3-2
we expect our man in Ireland to say something on the matter |

Gila got a goal!!!!!
Donadoni's start as coach is hardly auspicious!
3-1 France but at home and with very generous linesmen.
Reminds me of last years discussion on pro refs and linesmen.
Gallas was clearly offside on the first goal and then when Gila was onside they kept calling him back....
Have not checked out Scotland results lately but will do now. |

Well Italy finally get a win.
Toni had some great chances but at least its a positive result.
They are going to have to play much more consistantly if they hope to catch Scotland and France. |

| Scotland got a great result. Fair play to them. AS for Ireland I never seen a more horrific performance in all my days. |

I was not going to mention the Cyprus debacle.
What is the Irish press saying? A one off or is the whole program down the tubes?
I was A bit surprised at the final result.
By the way what do you think of Italy's chances this week in Georgia with Pirlo having problems with a cold and Gattuso back in Milanello?
That is a good chunk of the midfield not playing and while normally I would not worry with the statr Italy has had every point will count to get a head of France to advance. Right now to catch Scotland will be very difficult since they now have incredible confidence moving forward. |
