elmickio ha scritto: Talocran the whole program is down the tube, it was the worst defensive display i think I have ever seen. To top it all of we have to play Czech republic on wednesday. Cripes
That is one team that very quitely moved to the top of the standing and has to be favoured to advance and compete for the top rankings in 2008. Mind you they looked great going into the WC and look what happened.
The Irish may luck out if the Czech's underestimate them lets see what happens. |

Results from all Milan players from the break for National play.
It will be interesting to see if CA gives Kaka a rest saturday for Tuesday's CL game.
With Inzaghi and Gila not having play the offence should be well rested.
Same issue for midfield except for Pirlo.
Lets hope they do well at Sampdoria. They will need all 3 points just to keep pace.

Time to revive this.
Itay has a dog fight on their hands and it will be very interesting to see who ends atop the groupd with Scotland, France and Italy all capable of advacing.
Italy put on a strong showing this weekend in Genoa against Georgia (with out Kaladze) winning 2-0 but finishing poorly after creating much more.
It was good to see a very storng midfield anchored by Pirlo (great free kick) Gattuso and a very healthy and active Ambrosini!
Oddo did not play a strong game but we missed Inzaghi and Gila not even being on the bench.
People are still calling for Donadoni's head but the true test will be in November in Scotland playing the kingmakers at home.
And is Scotland every playing like they can win this. They believe they can take the group no problem. |

It is good to see an Azzuri side with Rossoneri spirit written all over it. Ambro, Pirlo, Rino and Oddo all putting up decent displays and of course Donadoni (a Rossoneri alumni). I jealously didn't like Lippi carrying half of the Juve entourage to the national team. That aside, it is the interest of the national team that is important and the team is united.
Scotland will be the biggest game of Didi's coaching career and will have to pray that Sheva and Co. live up to their promise by shutting up Ribery's ugly mouth and giving the French player and restful 2008 summer. |

Sorry I missed this.
Okay he is a good player. I personally just don't like the guy.
On the other hand I respect him much more than Materazzi, but then that is not saying much.
Hey when your standard is the Maldini clan what can i say.
As far as Italy's chances it i all in their own hands.
Scotland, France and Italy all need wins. The Ukraine will be playing to be spoilers and quite frankly the way the french haveplayed to date they least deserve to be there of the 3.
The key to Scotland will of course be surviving th first 5-10 minutes and then wait for the mistake. Classic stuff. Ever hear of Falkirk? |

Sorry for the delay but historically the Scots would fight their battles at their advantage.
Wait in the passes, attack from uphill and take all before them in th first 5 minutes.
Hence the key to success against Scotland has always tended to be "survive the first 5 minutes" and you stand a good chance of surviving.
Italy played well this tounament and in tipical Italian Fashion won the games they had to and made it more interesting than it needed to be.
Lets face it if they had won the games they should have there would not have been the last game drama with Scotland and France.
Regardless it was good for the tournament.
Now we are in the group of death with Hollan, Romania (not to be taken lightly) and of course France.....
In the end France psycologically wanted to avoid Italy more than Italy did not want to play France.
The look on the coach's face said it all.... "OH GOD anyone but Italy....."
Italy has also announced that they will set up their training centre for the tournamnet at Baden in Bavaria close to Salzberg if I got the report correct.... |
