Well I was at the LA Galaxy Toronto TFC game on the weekend and what a good match.

Toronto attacked well but could not finish.
LA sans Beckham defended well (including a goal line save from the defence)

The Fans taught the USA (ESPN2 was broadcasting the game live) how to cheer for your team and lambasted Beckham with several humourous chants questioning his parentage and sexual proclivities.

We did not get flares into the stadium but a few red smoke bombs made it through security and were put to good use.
LA could not make a decent corner due to the barrage of streamers and beer.
The only thing missing was the 2 extra points for the win instead of a draw.

In the end no one could fault the team's effort and all left smiling.

Now Toronto is setting many new records this season...now that you are even teaching those Beverly Hill Dwellers how to cheer. A point is worth more than nothing earned. Poor Becks!
More big ups for Toronto FC

Off to NY this weekend with a jury rigged injury laden squad.
The one good thing is many of the young Canadian's are getting playing time and valuable por experience.

The only problem today they play Juan Pablo Angel and the Red Bulls who eem to have their number.

Anyway weather we like it or not Beckham sells tickets.
Not since the heyday of the NY COSMOS has there been as many people in the seats for soccer (90 WC USA excepted) in the USA.

DC United sold out RFK stadium for the Beckham tour 46000 +.
Good news for the home team they won 1-0.

Well Beckham finally played in a game for LA and did not dissapoint.
The semi final game of the superliga (best of the MLS against the Mexican league) had DC united playing against LA at home.

BEcks score a classic free kick and set up the other to US national icon Landon Donovan for the 2-0 win.
Playing just over 60 minutes in the game before being substituted. He also earned a yellow card along the way for a crunching takle in the first half.

The interesting thing was the difference he made. One week ago DC beat LA at home in a league game with out becks.
Today it was the other way around and LA was a different team to the delight of there fans.

Don't be surprised to see more quality players going to the MLS next season.

LA's golden boy is now gone with a knee injury for 4 - 6 weeks.

Check out the details; http://web.mlsnet.com/news/mls_news.jsp ... ;fext=.jsp

Not sure what will happen to Becks but there is no way LA will have a successful season now.
The rest of the team is in a downward spiral.

In other news with 5 starters down with major injuries including 3 season ending injuries Toronto FC has set a record for scoring futility with another 1-0 loss to DC united this past weekend.

Some fans are beging to wonder what the team i doing with all that cash they keep raking it at sold out home games....

Well one game to go for TFC and the question is will it be the cellar or 2nd last place.
Fans are already planning a massive sendoff for the players.
The coach needs to go though. Not impressed with what he has done this year. Too many 1 goal losses that should have been draws or wins.

I have been proven wrong on LA since they have lost Beckham they actually have won 5 in a row and stand to do the impossible and do a repeat of 2005 when they barely made the playoffs and then ended up winning the MLS cup....

Well it looks like Becks is in the news but he is not responsible for the direction things are taking in the LA season. Good luck to him as always

Well saw the last game of the season yesterday and TFC pulled off a 2-2 draw in extra time with an amazing volley from Mr TFC Danny Dichio.

After the match the players did a victory lap for the fans with many of them throwing their jerseys to us.
After they were off the field all the fans converged on centre field for a spontaneous bounce and singalong.

Pretty heady stuff. I can't imagine if we ever one the league what these fans would do.

I actually saw some guys leaving the stadium with the fieldside "bar" stools and security did not even try to stop them.

Check out some of the highlights. They included a goal from the wrong side of centre alla Beckham by the revolution....

Believe it or not my son and I are in the video highlights after the first TFC goal.
