| After losing a vital vote in the Italian Senate on foreign policy, Premier Romano Prodi and his government has resign awakening possibility that AC Milan President and former two time Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi will be next Prime Minister. This will have lots of implications but for the Rossoneri it will mean that a void will be left at the club as he will have to detach himself to an extent. But for the general managemnet of football in Italy it can be a glimmer of hope because Berlusconi ahs football in his vein and will most likely appoint a better sports miniter than Melandri. |

For Italy it will be a disaster (but surely GMT doesn't think so).
For Italian soccer anything won't change.
For Milan AC I think that it's a complication. Because heavy market operations (as buying Ronaldinho) could be more difficult: Silvio can't seem too crazy anymore (spending so much money for soccer, during an italian economical crisis). |

heh, couldn't really imagine what makes you think so - just let me prove you wrong there by saying that italy's not exactly what can be universally defined as manageable country is it, as it is slowly but surely drifting away from what are worldwide known as basic common sense principles, now having said that, why on earth should i wish a person i respect such a punishing task? as far as i'm concerned and from my point of view - i know i'm being a bit selfish here but i live abroad and not planning to come back, you see - i'd rather prefer the commies dealing with it, the way they run the place is far more entertaining
like in other fields the whole italian football environment is no exception and getting worse and worse, incompetence is recurrent and rapidly spreading word, remember last summer's phone scripts scandal, nicely selected and handed over by Telecom Italia to Guido Rossi - now in charge of the company but top man of the FA back then, and how many other people have something to do with Telecom Italia, you name them all - oh but just give Giovanna Melandri the time to get a few rules changed, perhaps including the offside rule as well, who knows - you're in good hands, along with Matarrese they will get things nicely sorted for you - and you think all this is not entertaining? think again
Milan-wise to me, with him or without him, doesn't make any significant difference, i will keep on shouting for the devil regardless the owner, the coach or whoever you like - i've seen them all and incidentally i'm not one of those spoiled fans who demands big money transfers you see
there are days though i seriously ask myself why bothering |

Italy since WWII has averaged a change in government more than once a year.
That is no way to run a country let alone a business.
Will it be good for Milan and football in Italy? Well maybe Juve will actually get put in C where they should have been.
Like other foreigners however I can only look in from the outside and shake my head. |

GMT, my biggest agreement with you is that finally TIM and Rossi will be sorted out and Moratti's influence will drain back with inter to where they belong.
As well the communists came in too enthusiastic to crush the mafia (remember how the the rushed to Sicilia and Napoli) and it is certainly why in places like Catania Police have become a target for the people. i always thought Silvio handles the mafia dilemma well.
Well i don't think Melandri will get the chance to change the offside rules because Prodi's style of resignation is like the sinking of the titanic, it goes down and very deep. |
